Classy Mesut Ozil meets fan, 17, who was left paralysed from brain tumour and lets him watch Arsenal from his VIP box

ARSENAL star Mesut Ozil made one sick Gunners fan's dreams come true by inviting him to watch the Everton win from his VIP box.

The midfielder played a starring role to help his side to a 3-2 victory at the Emirates.

The three points will have come as a relief to 17-year-old Arsenal fan Jake Lee who was Ozil's special guest for the game.

The teenager was was diagnosed with a brain tumour in January 2019 and has had to endure surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

His chemotherapy is ongoing and surgery resulted in weakness down the teen’s left side and having to use a wheelchair.

But despite his ongoing fight, Jake remains positive and his illness has not stopped his love for football.

Sport and in particular Arsenal mean the world to him and from a young age, his dream was to become a professional footballer.

To make the 17-year-old’s dreams come true, Ray Of Sunshine ambassador Ozil invited Jake to watch the match from his box at the Emirates stadium, where he got to watch the action from one of the best seats in the house.

While in the box, Ozil's wife, Amine Gulse, gifted Jake with a signed shirt from the Arsenal player.

After the match Jake got to meet his hero at the stadium.

After his wish, Jake’s mum Bal Sandhu said: “Jake lives, breathes and eats football. The wish was absolutely incredible and beyond all our expectations.

"We had a great day and felt very spoilt. Jake was the happiest I have seen him in long time.

"Ozil’s family were so lovely and kind to us. We are so grateful to you all for a truly memorable day."

Ozil added: “It was an honour to have Jake and his mum as special VIP guests at the match on Sunday.

"It’s always an honour to meet such brave and inspiring children and work with Rays of Sunshine to grant magical wishes.

"It always makes me happy to be able to make a difference and put a smile on the children’s faces.”

The charity brightens the lives of seriously ill children by granting their wishes, granting hospital ward wishes and organising large scale events for children living with life-limiting illnesses.

In his role as ambassador, Ozil regularly gives up his time to grant wishes and attend events.
