Cilla Black had to learn to live independently after the death of her husband, as she had never done anything for herself before.

The star married her manager Bobby Willis in 1969, and they were married for 30 years until his death.

He died in 1999 after a short battle with cancer, aged just 57, and for the first time in her life, Cilla was single.

Her friend Paul O'Grady, a talking head in the documentary, revealed: "She'd never done anything for herself, to tell you the truth.

"She'd never used a hole in the wall to get cash out of, she didn't have a clue.

"She didn't know how to order a taxi for herself, Bobby had done everything for her."

In footage on the documentary, Cilla spoke of her excitement of the first time she bought a round of drinks independently, aged 59.

Speaking about her husband's death in an unearthed interview, she said: "It's taken two and a half years for it to sink in that really Bobby isn't coming back. Not at all, no way.
