Chelsea transfer blow as Borussia Dortmund ‘will extend Jude Bellingham’s contract until 2025’ later this month

BORUSSIA DORTMUND are reportedly set to extend Jude Bellingham's contract to 2025, in a blow to rumoured potential suitors Chelsea.

The former Birmingham teen enjoyed a stunning debut season in Germany, earning a place in Gareth Southgate's 26-man England squad for Euro 2020.

His amazing form has seen him receive interest from the likes of Thomas Tuchel's Champions League winners.

But Dortmund are set to make such a deal far more difficult.

Bellingham, 17, penned a deal to 2023 with the German giants last year.

But his contract reportedly contains an option for Dortmund to add two years upon his 18th birthday.

According to Bild, they will exercise their option to extend the deal to 2025 when Bellingham turns 18 later this month.

The midfielder burst onto the scene with boyhood club Brum last year.

He made 44 appearances as a 16-year-old for the Championship side, drawing interest from the likes of Manchester United.

After a prolonged pursuit, Bellingham opted to join Dortmund for around £25million last summer.

Bellingham made 46 appearances for Dortmund during his maiden campaign, including ten in the Champions League.

He also picked up the first silverware of his career, starting in the final as Dortmund lifted the DFB Pokal.

His amazing performances drew the eye of England boss Southgate, with the youngster having earned four caps going into Euro 2020.
