Chelsea have become the latest team to join the race for Jack Grealish this summer, according to reports.

It's set to be a seismic summer for Manchester City as they look to bounce back from their painful defeat in the Champions League final and aim to replace departing legend Sergio Aguero.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has said he is 'confident of finding a man to fill the club-record scorer's shoes but also hinted that some other areas of the pitch could see investment as well.

The only other player City have been repeatedly linked with is Aston Villa talisman Grealish, who once again impressed with another fine Premier League season.

Pep Guardiola has repeatedly gone on record with his praise for the 25-year-old and his ability on the ball would make him a perfect fit for the Blues.

However, according to Fichajes, via the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are now the 'favourites' to sign Grealish.

Despite beating City to the Champions League trophy, Thomas Tuchel's side are also looking to invest this summer as they prepare to mount a Premier League title challenge.

Chelsea have largely been linked with strikers and defenders so far in the window after they spent heavily on the attacking-midfield area over the last two years, with the signings of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic.

However, the London club have apparently joined and surpassed City in the race for Grealish's signature. The report adds that Villa will demand around £100million to let their captain leave.

Meanwhile, reports in Brazil say Fernandinho is expected to agree a new one-year deal at City in the coming days.

Globo Esporte say negotiations have advanced between City and their captain, who wanted to wait until after the Champions League final to discuss his future, despite being out of contract this month.

Now, the report says 'everything indicates' a one-year extension will be agreed and announced shortly.
