A final appeal by Chanthakoummane's attorneys seeking a commutation of the death penalty or a stay of execution was denied Monday by the Texas Board of Amnesty and Parole.
Chanthakoummane has always maintained his innocence while being shrouded in doubts about the reliability of the evidence used against him at trial.
