A spate of vehicle break-ins in an East Staffordshire village had led to police issuing a warning to residents.

People in Barton-under-Needwood are being urged to make sure their vehicles are left safe and secure following reports of suspicious activity in the area recently.

Officers received reports of two incidents this morning, Monday, October 25.

The first was at around 6.45am at an address in Saffron Close where it was reported a van and car were broken into.

The second reported incident was also at around 6.45am in Park Road where it is reported a grey Tesla was broken into. CCTV footage shows a white man going into the boot of the car. It is reported the man was tall and seen wearing dark clothing at the time of the break in. Nothing was taken from the car.
