Carol Vorderman, 60, says she doesn’t want to do TV anymore as she ‘doesn’t see the point’

CAROL Vorderman has revealed that she doesn't want to do TV work anymore because she "doesn't see the point".

The 60-year-old star admitted that she wants to focus on enjoying her life after beating Covid last year, and finding herself getting "beyond tired" during filming.

The Countdown legend shared: "I’m not that bothered about being on the telly any more. I worked my butt off last year and I don’t want to do it any more.

"I was really busy, I was making a couple of new TV shows and books, plus filming new stuff for The Maths Factor.

"I found lockdown difficult – like everybody. By last Christmas I was bloated and not well. Tired beyond tired, and I was finding filming not pleasant."

Carol added to The Mirror: "In January I said to my agent: 'I’m just not doing that any more. I don’t see the point. I’m going to concentrate on my health', so that’s what I’ve been doing."

The TV favourite shot to fame when she landed her first ever TV role on Countdown in 1982, which she starred on until 2008.

She has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, Loose Women, and I'm A Celeb over the years.

However, she was struck down with coronavirus just before lockdown in March 2020, and suffered the effects of "long Covid" for months.

Earlier this morning, Carol opened up about how the life-threatening illness had impacted her long-term - revealing she could barely walk without getting exhausted.

Carol Vorderman reveals long covid battle and says she 'couldn't walk 100 yards' for MONTHS

She said on Good Morning Britain: "You know I'm a walker, so I can go off on a nice little 15-miler today.

"But I couldn't walk 100 yards. Months later I still couldn't walk 100 yards.

"I would be gasping for breath, for probably three months."

Thankfully she no longer sees the effects of Covid, 15 months on.
