A woman who tried lots of different weight loss programmes is delighted to have finally hit her dream weight.

Lisa Squires, from Carlisle, has struggled with her weight for many years, trying lots of different weight loss programmes and often turning to quick fix options - none of which were working.

But now, nearly six stone down, Lisa is feeling, slimmer, healthier and loving her new look.

The 34-year-old was feeling restricted by the number of different diets she was trying, but this all changed when she joined Slimming World.

Lisa was just about to give up on her weight loss journey when she decided to give it one last go and join the Silloth Slimming World group, run by Loretta Thompson.

Since then she's said it was "the best decision ever," going on to lose five stone 12lb and feeling "fantastic."

The food optimising plan that Slimming World use was an easy fix for Lisa because everything is counted for you. As a member you simply follow the extra easy plan and fill up on tasty every day, family favourites.

This, along with the help and support to understand yourself as a slimmer, identify your trigger foods and pit falls really helped Lisa make healthy habit changes for life.

Lisa said: "Food optimising gives me the freedom to enjoy home cooked meals the whole family can eat, with the added bonus of being able to socialise and eat out - as nothing is out of bounds.

"When the family want 'pizza night' I love the fact I can still join in and not feel guilty, which means I don't feel like I'm missing out."

Before joining Slimming World, Lisa said: "My relationship with food was extremely poor and I regularly made bad choices. Now I stay in group each week and have a better understanding about myself.

"I know the reasons and situations that see me reaching for those high fat, high sugar foods, which has meant I've been able to plan for those trickier times, leading me to develop new, healthier, informed habits around food."

As Lisa started to lose weight and feel more confident, she started to incorporate some daily activity into her life.

This is now just something she does every day. It's this activity along with the food optimising plan that keeps Lisa looking fantastic.

Loretta runs weekly groups in Silloth and Carlisle.
