After suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time this season, Cardiff City face another big test of their play-off credentionals.

Defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night leaves the Bluebirds six points adrift of the play-off positions, with precious little room left for any further slip-ups.

The two defeats have coincided with an injury to talismanic forward Lee Tomlin, and we could well get a further update on Neil Harris' injured stars this afternoon, with Joe Ralls likely to be fighting fit for a place in his starting line-up.

Brentford are one of the sides Cardiff will need to catch if they are to keep their play-off hopes alive.

The Bees are currently fifth, and a City win would close the gap between the two teams to just three points.

Cardiff may well have won just once of their last nine home games in all competitions, but the visitors are on a sticky run of form themselves, and are winless in their last four Championship outings.
