A car caught alight following a crash with a van and another car in Salford.

The smash took place on Trinity Way, near to the city centre, on Sunday evening.

A green Vauxhall Astra, a van and a grey Mercedes were involved in the smash.

The Astra caught alight following the crash.

Fire crews extinguished the flames.

The driver managed to escape the vehicle before firefighters arrived to the scene.

There are no reports of any injuries or any arrests.

One lane was closed for around an hour while emergency services attended, causing delays in the Castlefield area.

The closures have all since been lifted.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called to a report of collision on Trinity Way, Salford, shortly before 8pm on July 12, 2020.

"The collision involved a green Vauxhall Astra, a van and a grey Mercedes.

"No reports of injuries."
