Manchester City are set to play Chelsea at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday afternoon, looking to continue their rich vein of form after their midweek success against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

That clash in Germany was played on Wednesday and City advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious European competition for only the second time in their history thanks to goals from Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden.

While Pep Guardiola has previously shrugged off suggestions that the Blues could complete an unprecedented quadruple this season, it remains more than feasible, but City's attention will now turn towards defeating Chelsea in the capital.

Notably, Thomas Tuchel has failed to beat Guardiola across their five previous encounters while City emerged as 3-1 winners at Stamford Bridge in January when the two sides last met, albeit Chelsea were coached by Frank Lampard on that occasion.

It seems highly likely that Guardiola will make minimal changes from the starting line-up that triumphed against Dortmund, although it could be just Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias and John Stones in defence that retain their places in the XI.

It's rare that Ederson doesn't start for City, but as in other domestic cup ties this season, Zack Steffen could take over in goal.

Oleksandr Zinchenko did nothing wrong in the Champions League, and while the versatile 24-year-old might feel aggrieved to be omitted from the lineup against Chelsea, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Joao Cancelo return.

The midfield three of Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva could start again at Wembley while City's attacking trio that provided the Blues with the inspiration to win at the Signal Iduna Park will likely remain unchanged.

That means Kevin De Bruyne will be utilised in the false nine role in which the Belgian has proved so effective, with Foden and Mahrez - the goalscorers against Dortmund - starting in the wide areas.

Predicted Man City Starting XI vs Chelsea: Steffen, Walker, Dias, Stones, Cancelo, Rodri, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Foden, De Bruyne, Mahrez.
