Sweary Lewis Capaldi was muted at the BRITs tonight as he won the award for Best New Artist tonight.

The Someone You Loved singer, 23, swaggered on stage to collect his first ever BRIT while swigging from a bottle.

However viewers were unable to hear what he said as the sound had been muted by ITV as he seemed to appear to have sworn pre-watershed.

Fans flocked to Twitter in confusion, with one tweeting: "Did they just mute the entirety of Lewis’s speech? #BRITs."
