Britney Spears' ex-husband was released from Napa County jail after appearing in court on two felony counts related to 2015 theft charges.
Jason Alexander, 40, has been charged with stealing a bracelet worth her $2,000 (£1,650) from a woman who was renting a room in Napa County.
He has been charged with theft and trafficking in stolen goods.
Alexander appeared virtually Wednesday in Napa County Superior Court in California.
Although he wore a blue jumper and face his mask, he entered no pleas.
He spoke only to confirm his name and accept court-appointed representatives.
His Sang Nguyen, who represents Mr. Alexander, said Mr. Alexander was not "hard to find" and therefore was not in danger of escape.
"I don't think it's a mystery that Mr. Alexander is known. His name is in the newspapers," he said.
"It's not that he's hard to find." The PA confirmed that Alexander was transferred to the Napa County Jail on Tuesday.
Judge Mark Boessenecker granted his Alexander's release and set a date for filing the petition on September 13th.
Alexander was previously convicted of trespassing and assault in a court in Ventura last month after he attempted to crash Ms Spears. wedding.
PA understands that after completing his sentence, Napa County authorities requested a hold on his release.
Napa County Sheriff's Department spokesman Henry Wofford told the PA that the crime was committed in 2015 after Alexander rented a room from a woman at American Canyon in Napa County.

"She has a room to rent and was looking for a tenant to rent it. A friend recommended Mr. Alexander." he said.
"Mr. Alexander moved there and within the first month of living there, the homeowner noticed that a $2,000 bracelet was missing from his bedroom.

The woman was unable to retrieve the bracelet from the pawn shop and at that point contacted the sheriff, Wofford added. .
By the time the report was filed in 2016, he had left the state.
After Alexander was previously convicted of misdemeanor charges at the address of Ms. Spears, in Ventura County he was ordered to serve 128 days in prison.
He was acquitted of felony stalking and further misdemeanor vandalism.
Alexander was Spears' first husband, and he was less than three days old before the marriage was annulled in 2004.
