Brit pensioner, 78, found soaked in blood after vicious ‘knife fight with Thai wife’ in sin city Pattaya

A BRITISH pensioner was found covered in blood after reportedly getting into a knife fight with his Thai wife.

The 78-year-old was heard rowing with his partner, 67, at their home in Pattaya, Thailand, last night causing horrified neighbours to ring police.

When officers arrived at the home, they discovered blood splattered across the bed and floor and the pensioner with cuts across his head.

His wife had slash marks on her hand with both treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

The woman told officers the pair had a heated row before her husband allegedly came at her with a knife.

She added: "We were shouting at each other but then he really lost his temper and tried to stab me with a knife. I used my hand to fend it away and I was cut.

"I was hurt and angry so I snatched the knife from his hand and swung it to keep him away from me, but he came towards me so I slashed it on his head. Then he started bleeding.

"He stopped attacking me because he was in pain then, I calmed down and called the ambulance.''

They were both being questioned today in custody as police try to figure out if both husband and wife need to be charged over the bloodbath.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jirasak Abphaeng said: ''The British man was wounded and so was his wife. She said that she tried to defend herself from his attack.

''There were only two people in the room so we have to interview both of them to find the the true details of what happened.

''If they both attacked each other, they could both be charged. Right now, it is not a good idea for them to stay together.''
