The BRIT Awards 2020 was a mixed bag, with winners spread out across categories - despite predictions Lewis Capaldi would sweep the board.

He did take home two awards - for Best New Artist and for Song Of The Year.

His sweary first acceptance speech was not broadcast by ITV, leaving viewers wondering what the comedic Scotsman said.

Rapper Dave took home Best Album, while Best Female went to Mabel, who was the most nominated woman this year.

Male Solo Artist went to rapper Stormzy, while Foals bagged Group Of The Year.

Billie Eilish scooped the International Female Solo Artist award, while her male counterpart was Tyler, The Creator.

The Rising Star Award went to Celeste.

The beginning of the music awards show began on a more somber note as Jack addressed the former Love Island presenter's tragic death at the weekend.

Caroline was found dead at the age of 40 at her east London home on Saturday morning. Her family confirmed that she had taken her own life.

After singer Mabel's opening performance this evening, Jack initially joked about the artists at the ceremony before speaking about Caroline.

He said: "I just wanted to add that, over the weekend, we learnt the awful news that a member of the BRITs family, our friend Caroline Flack, tragically passed away.
