Brian McFadden has found himself in a furious Twitter spat with Irish actor and activist, John Connors.

The former Westlife star, 39, caught the Love/Hate actor's attention for all the wrong reasons when he posted a comment about the Oscars.

Evidently, Brian's comment didn't go down well with the traveller activist, who has now challenged him to a fight.

Taking to Twitter to share his thoughts on the film industry, Brian retweeted words from Donald Trump, who bashed the Oscars after South Korean movie Parasite won several gongs.

Agreeing with the controversial statement, the former Westlife star wrote: "We were all thinking the same."

This didn't sit well with John, however, as he quickly retaliated by insulting not only Brian's film knowledge, but also his musical career.

John replied: "Brian, you don't know good music never mind films. Stick to the dodgy harmonies."

It wasn't long before the Dublin native hit back at the former Love/Hate star, claiming that the actor 'played himself' in the hit Irish drama series.

"I’ve been making music and touring for over 21 years. You played yourself in Love Hate and think you’re Russell Crowe," Brian quipped.

But John replied to Brian's insult with a serious burn as he claimed that the singer's music is a mortifying memory for the people of Ireland, and he should be 'prosecuted' for ruining Irish culture.

The star ranted: "Brian. Your 'Music' is a stain on Irish culture. You should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity. Westlife dumped you and you can't get over it."

John claimed that Brian's music is a 'stain on Irish culture'.

Brian who left Westlife of his own accord replied to the Love Hate actor: "Brilliant!! Very creative."

John then tweeted Brian asking him to fight him for charity: "Really? Cos I never boxed...Brian McFadden for charity man? A fight between us was meant to happen before @BrianMcFadden.

"Your fans tell me you were a great amateur boxer.I had a few aul go's throughout the years. Plenty of homeless and mental health Charity's need every penny they can get."

Brian who left Westlife of his own accord replied to the Love Hate actor: "Brilliant!! Very creative."

With Brian seeming to take the high road and not respond, John ranted on: "Don't worry I don't float like a butterfly or sting like a bee but I'll gladly knockout a back up singer from glee!"

Another quipped: "This is the best thing I've ever read, omg. Please we need to see a Brian McFadden fight!"

And a third tweeted: "This has fully, fully made my day! Go on John, you tell him!"

This isn't the first time Brian has found himself in a spot of bother over his Twitter posts.

Just a few weeks ago, the singer received huge backlash from fans after he compared rapper Eminem to Screech from Saved By The Bell.

The 39-year-old shared a snap of the Real Slim Shady hit-maker posing with 50 Cent.

Alongside the star-studded snap, the Dublin native admitted that he thinks Eminem is a genius, but felt annoyed at the way in which he poses for the camers.

Brain wrote: "I love Eminem as an artist. He’s a genius. But why does he always make that I’m hard as nails gansta don’t f**k with me face?"

The singer then confessed that he saw a huge comparison between Eminem and the character Screech in iconic teen sit-com, Saved By The Bell.

"He’s really just screech from saved by the bell with a chain around his neck," he continued.

Brian's opinion was met with much criticism as fans hit back claiming that the former Westlife star had no right to comment on the star.
