A boy fell to his death from the White Cliffs of Dover on his 12th birthday.

The boy who fell to his death from the White Cliffs of Dover was celebrating his 12th birthday on the first day of a family vacation.

Mati Urb was visiting Kent with his parents and his two brothers for theEaster holiday. An Estonian family who moved toLondonin 2021 planned to travel the south coast of England in a motorhome.

However, during a walk over the famous cliffs, Matty's parents lost sight of their son and began looking for him.

Finally, at about 6:15 pm, a passerby called the Coast Guard and deployed lifeboats, helicopters and Kent Police to search for Matty.

He was found at the foot of the cliff an hour after him. The place is said to be 'not accessible on foot'.

Paramedics were on hand to provide medical attention, but sadly Matty was declared dead at the scene shortly after 8:00 pm.

A post-mortem examination concluded that Matty died from head injuries, and police reports indicated no third party involvement.

At an inquest at Maidstone, coroner Katrina Hepburn ruled that the young man's death was an accident.

said Mrs. Hepburn.

"I have no idea if he stumbled and fell, if it was the wind, or if he was looking too far.

"We know the family would take no comfort in not being able to explain how Matty fell.

"These are tragic circumstances and the conclusion I have returned to is one of chance. I see no evidence that he intended to cross the cliff.

" We would like to offer our deepest condolences for the tragic loss of Matty in these circumstances."
