Boxing competition at Glasgow's Emirates Arena was canceled in a firearms report

The international boxing competition atEmirates Arenain Glasgow was canceled following reports offirearmsfound in the building.

Police officers headed to theLondon Roadvenue after an alert was issued around 1 pm on Saturday, June 25, when the MTK Global Lonsdale Box Cup was held.

An officer wiped out the area, but said no weapons were found.

However, it has been decided to cancel the three-day event that was touted as a prestigious amateur tournament that attracts fighters from all over the world.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Police said: "I received a report of a firearm at the Emirates Arena on London Road in Glasgow around 1 pm on Saturday, June 25.

" A uniformed police officer attended and searched the area. However, the firearms were not recovered.

"After discussions between the event organizer and the guards, police monitored the cancellation of the event from a distance.

" Inquiries are in progress. The 2022 edition of the

Box Cup was scheduled to take place from Friday to Sunday.

Previously held in Cambria, this year we headed to Glasgow. The best amateur boxer in a bigger venue.
