While on lockdown, many people are using the time to learn something new, but one woman is making sure to keep up to date with the skills she already has.
Heidi Lee Oley, a hairdresser from Atlanta, Georgia, was forced to close her salon amid the coronavirus pandemic and has since taken to practicing hairstyles on her boyfriend, Geoff Clark.
The pair have been self-isolating in a family cabin outside of the city and Heidi has been styling his long hair while he works away on the computer.
She first gave him a George Washington inspired look using a curling iron she brought with her.
But as the days went on, she became more and more creative.
Other looks included Princess Leia buns from Star Wars, an updo based on the late Amy Winehouse's hair and one resembling Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch.
Heidi shares snaps of the hair styles on her Instagram and Facebook and requests for specific ones have been pouring in.
The professional has been enjoying the challenge so much that she went out and bought supplies from her local store, after leaving her kit back at home for the lockdown.
Speaking to Bored Panda, Heidi said: "I knew I'd be out of work for weeks, possibly months, so when he was on the computer I started curling it and was like, 'I'm going to make you look like George Washington'.
"I posted it to a few hair forums on Facebook and they loved it.
"I kept up with it because the responses were so uplifting. Our industry, among others, is in limbo, we don't have clients, we don't get paid, many are self-employed. The love we received is why we kept the series going.
"I wanted to be a little glimmer of light during the shadows of the uncertainty of our industry."
She went on to say that Geoff has been the perfect willing participant this entire time and that he has a great head of hair for styling, something she doesn't do that often as she specialises in hair colouring.
"His hair is the best! It's very curly. When we came to the cabin, I only [had] my curling iron, I left all my tools at my salon, so I'm using tools from the grocery store," she added.
"It's fun for me, he likes his hair played with, win-win. He has a heart of gold for letting me do this and post it."
