The body of a "hero" British father who jumped into a lake to save his son has been found more than three weeks after he went missing.
51-year-old Aranchadajumped into the waters of Italy's Lake Garda after spotting his teenage boy swimming on July 22 .
After helping his son into a boat, he failed to resurface, and the family feared his death.
They believed that Alan, an oil executive from Leicestershire, had a seizure from the impact of the cold water and disappeared under the surface.
The Italian Coast Guard said on Tuesday that more than three weeks had passed since he was last seen "almost in the area" following a massive search using underwater drones. He said a body had been found.
A spokesman said, "The drowning was probably due to illness after Mr. Chadha rescued an endangered child."
Tragedy struck when Alan was on vacation with his partner Holly Mosley, 39, and his two children, ages 14 and 7.
The family had rented a boat at the beginning of the vacation to celebrate Alan's birthday.
An eyewitness said:
"But then the man slipped under the water and probably had a seizure."
Holly was visibly shaken after Alan disappeared. It says on paper:
