The death of a man whose body was found with stab wounds in Hertfordshire is being linked to a murder in north London.

The Metropolitan Police said the death in Elstree yesterday afternoon is connected to a stabbing murder near Barnet on Thursday.

Police have not released details of the death in Hogg Lane, Elstree, which is around five miles from Barnet.

A man in his 30 was found dead in a car with stab injures on Thursday evening in Scratchwood Park, Barnet.

The Met said officers were called to nearby Courtland Avenue in Barnet at around 8pm following a report of a fight in progress but found no trace of a victim or suspects.

They were later called to the Barnet Bypass by London Ambulance Service and medics attempted treatment on the injured man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident comes after seven men were stabbed to death in as many days in London.
