Blaenau Gwent county borough is one of four new areas in Wales to go into local lockdown following a sharp rise in coronavirus cases, the Welsh Government has announced.

It means the areas of Abertillery, Llanhilleth, Brynmawr, Nantyglo and more will be subject to new restrictions from Tuesday, September 22 at 6pm.

Home to tens of thousands of people, the new local lockdown will have a big impact on those that live in the area.

The restrictions will apply to anywhere that is covered by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council including, Abertillery, Llanhilleth, Brynmawr, Rassau and Tredegar.
