Democrat Senator's dramatic 'no' vote on $15 minimum wage
Senate Democrats have struck a deal that could pave the way for the Senate to approve a massive Covid relief bill worth $1.9 trillion.
The bill, Joe Biden‘s foremost legislative priority, is aimed at battling the pandemic and aiding the struggling economy, providing direct payments of up to $1,400 to most Americans and money for vaccines and testing, as well as aid to state and local governments, help for schools and the airline industry and subsidies for health insurance.
Meanwhile, a Florida mansion owned by Donald Trump and his sons has been listed for sale at $49m. The property comes with lifetime membership to the Mar-a-Lago club.
Trump’s former home listed for sale at $49 million
A company registered for former President Donald Trump and his family has listed their ocean-front Florida mansion for sale for $49 million (£13.4 million).
The property sits just next door to Mr Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club, the former President's current residence.
Estate agent Guy Clarke told Bloomberg news: “Because of its proximity and its lack of privacy, it would probably be a difficult thing to sell to someone who’s not a Trump supporter. It’s great for a Trump supporter to own that house and have the accessibility to Trump and his world. For that type of person, it’s the right house.”
The property was bought by $18.2 million (£ 13.1 million) in 2014 to a company led by Trump’s eldest sons, Donald Jr and Eric. It is listed as an asset of Trump in financial disclosure documents, the Palm Beach Daily News reports.
Senate breaks Covid deadlock – but $15 minimum wage rejected

But Republicans and eight Democrats rejected Senator Bernie Sanders’ amendment to include a $15 minimum wage in the bill.
