Beverley Callard has shared a touching tribute to her late friend Anne Kirkbride, six years after she sadly died in 2015.

The I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! star took to social media on Tuesday to reflect upon her friendship with Anne.

The thoughtful post came six years after Anne, known for playing Coronation Street's Deirdre Barlow, died of breast cancer at the age of 60.

Taking to social media, the former Coronation Street actress shared an incredible throwback of the two actors in which they appeared to be enjoying a Christmas drink.

In the snap, that Bev shared with her 158,000 Instagram followers, the actress donned a striking zebra print crop top and matching trousers as she cuddled Anne.

Anne was wearing an elegant white number and also beamed from ear to ear in the throwback snap.

Alongside the snap, Beverley wrote: "6 years ago I lost my darling friend. Miss her every single day, love never dies xx."

Several Coronation Street fans have also shared their thoughts in the comment section and reflected on their memories of watching Anne in the show.

"Wow 6 years, is it really that long ago, she played a big part in corrie for many years, she is missed," wrote one fan.

"So true love never dies ,, thank you for this, lovely photo," added a second.

A third shared their support for Bev, writing: "Bev we're all here for you and love you xx."

Fellow I'm A Celebrity star Jordan North, also added: "Lovely photo Beverly."

The two actress' had been friends for over three decades when Anne received the devastating news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

In 2015, Anne was rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke after which the medics informed her family that she had around 24 hours left to live.

Reflecting upon saying goodbye to her beloved friend, Beverley held Anne's hand as the iconic actress slipped away.

Speaking about the heartbreaking moment to The Mirror in 2015, Beverley revealed: "I can honestly say she left this world from a room full of love.”

“And then, when she’d gone, we cried and cried. Buckets and buckets of tears."
