Benjamin Keough and his mum Lisa Marie Presley were last seen in public together more than a year before his apparent suicide.

Benjamin, who is the grandson of Elvis Presley, died on Sunday at the age of 27 in Calabasas, California, his mum's rep confirmed to People.

TMZ reported that he died from a "self-inflicted gunshot wound", according to police sources.

Now a picture has emerged of the mother with her son Benjamin, who her manager declared "the love of her life".

In what is believed to be the last public picture of Benjamin with his mum, he and Lisa Marie, 52, were spotted in New York on April 22, 2019, getting into a car together.

Lisa - who had Benjamin with ex-husband Danny Keough - also has twins Finley and Harper, 11, as well as 31-year-old daughter Riley.

In a statement, Lisa Marie's manager said: "She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11 year old twins and her oldest daughter Riley.

"She adored that boy. He was the love of her life."

Benjamin stayed out of the limelight for much of his life despite his famous family.

In 2009, as a teen, he signed a $5million record deal - but his music career sadly never seemed to take off.

Lisa married Benjamin's dad Danny in 1988 before their split in 1994.

Lisa recalled a childhood memory of seeing her dad, Elvis Presley, dead, when she was just nine years old

She's walked down the aisle four times since, with singer Michael Jackson, actor Nicolas Cage, and Michael Lockwood, who she divorced in 2016.

Lisa recalls one of her biggest childhood memories was seeing her dead father, Elvis Presley, at the age of nine.

The King died at his Graceland home in 1977 - he had kissed Lisa goodnight, and the next time she saw him, girlfriend Ginger Alden was attending to his body after he had died.
