Sean Dyche hopes his new Burnley deal will help secure the future of some of his out of contract stars.
The Clarets have a cluster of players whose deals expire in the summer, including captain Ben Mee and his defensive partner James Tarkowski.
The latter is set to leave on a free transfer but the skipper seems likely to agree new terms and Dyche feels the certainty and stability of his future can only help in negotiations.

”I spoke with Alan (Pace) particularly, and Mike Smith, about the next situations we have to clear up, so that's an ongoing process,” said Dyche.
"But I think it's helpful that I've re-signed, because obviously it gives clarity to the players, to their agents and the club.
"It was looking like it was always going to happen, really, but the actual message being sent out means the players will know where they stand with me, and then the club in turn will speak to their representatives and see what can be done.
“I think all the signs help, but they don't guarantee players will re-sign, of course, contracts often do, the level of, so that's often the priority, to get their contracts right, and behind that, if they get on well with the management team and their fellow teammates, and the club in general, that can only help.”
Alongside the defensive duo, Burnley have eight others out of contract with Matej Vydra, Jay Rodriguez, Dale Stephens, Erik Pieters, Aaron Lennon, Phil Bardsley, Jack Cork and Ashley Barnes seeing their deals expire, although the club hold one year options on the latter two.
Given Burnley have worked hard this summer to restore some balance to the squad it is imperative they don’t get themselves into a situation where they are again short on numbers.
“There are no individuals,” said Dyche when asked about the contract hopes for his squad.
“It’s all the players. I always try and be open with them, they know that.
“I’ve discussed, when they’ve wished to discuss with me, the football side of things. Sometimes it’s about contracts, it depends on the style of representatives they use.”
