BBC viewers left in hysterics as Jesper Hellstrom bizarrely performs HEAD's first triple jump at European Championships

Swedish athlete Jesper Hellstrom delivered his best salmon impression during Wednesday's triple jump final at the European Championships in Germany.

The 27-year-old may not have won a medal, but proved to be one of the major talking points for him at the Olympiastadion.

A surprise finalist, Hellstrom jumped 16.07 meters to finish in the final standings and qualify by a narrow margin.

He started with his 16:02 cautious first jump, but his second attempt all failed in comedic fashion.

His Hellstrom over-rotated and lost his balance and flew headfirst into the sand.

Impressed with salmon and seal dives, the Swede pulled the crowd apart with a laugh during the jump.

On his third jump, he reached 16.23 meters, but he finished 10th in the final and did not qualify.

Funny After his second jump final, Hellstrom joked. Hellstrom wasn't the only one who found his funny side, as viewers of the BBC social commented on his jumps on his media.
