A devastated family is mourning the loss of their three-month-old baby, after he was discovered 'ice cold' in his cot having stopped breathing while they slept.
The tragedy took place overnight on Monday January 18 when baby Archie Sims was discovered 'unconscious with one eye shut' when his father went to change his nappy.
Archie's dad, Michael Sims, 30, found his son laying in his cot, 'as white as a ghost with blood and mucus hanging from his open mouth,' My London reports.
Michael said: "I picked him up. He was ice cold, and I called his name."
After the discovery Michael then rushed to his sister's room Sarah Fisherman, who is first-aid trained.
Sarah, 32, gave Archie CPR with the help of the emergency services over the phone.
Michael added: "At the hospital, doctors continued their attempts to revive him, but they were not able to bring him back."
Archie was pronounced dead 40 minutes after the initial 999 call.
Despite the medical staff's efforts, Michael said there was 'too much blood on his lungs' and said: "If there wasn't so much he might have had a chance."
Archie, who had no prior health problems, was a son to Zoe Keeler, 25, and a younger brother to Freddie, aged 2.
The whole family, who are from Woolwich in London, are said to be 'heartbroken beyond repair.'
A GoFundMe Page has since been set up by Michael's sister Sara Richards to help with funeral costs to enable the family to give Archie the best possible send-off.
Sara said: "This morning we lost a part of our hearts, our beautiful Archie Sims gained his angel wings at 3 months old.
"We are all heartbroken beyond repair and are looking [to] raise as many funds as possible to give him a the proper send off he deserves.
"Rest in peace little man, you were truly loved by so many."
