A baby boy has been taken to hospital after a crash in Blackburn today.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to King Street at around 3.20pm today (March 2).
Lancashire Police said the crash happened near to the junction with Stonyhurst Road, close to Home Bargains.
A spokesperson for police said: "We were called to reports of a collision on King Street, Blackburn.
"We attended and found a number of cars had collided and a small child had suffered a head injury. The child has been taken to hospital for treatment.
"The road has been closed in both directions and motorists are being asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible."
North West Ambulance Service also confirmed that an 11-month-old boy was taken to hospital with a head injury as a result of the crash.
They said that a car had gone into the back of another stationary vehicle.
King Street remains shut in both directions between Montague Street and Stonyhurst Road.
Traffic alert service Inrix said: "A674 King Street in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident between A6078 Montague Street and Stonyhurst Road. Near Home Bargains Store."
Anybody who saw the collision, or saw either of the vehicles in the moments before the collision, and has not yet been spoken to by police is asked to get in touch with them on 101, quoting log 945 of March 2nd.
