Awkward moment Matt Hancock discusses casual sex with Kay Burley

KAY Burley left viewers cringing this morning as she discussed “casual sex” with Matt Hancock.

Burley paused for a giggle during the interview on the coronavirus sex ban with the Health Secretary hiding behind an awkward smile.

The Sky News presenter asked: “How long is this casual sex ban going to last?

“You’re saying that social distancing is needed in established relationships what about people not in established relationship.

She then bashfully added: “Why am I whispering I don’t know?”

Hancock awkwardly replied: “I don’t know, you’re live on national TV, Kay.”

She hit back “Indeed… it’s ok to smile” when the grinning Tory MP fumbled over his words.

'SO AWKS'

Viewers were amused by the awkward moment on Twitter with others labelling it “excruciating”.

One woman wrote: “Oh Kay, poor you. So awks.”

A man tweeted: “Can’t believe you asked our health secretary about casual sex”

Another said: “So funny, he went all bashful.”

Another woman said: “Did make me giggle!”

One man joked: “Plenty of chemistry there between you and @MattHancock - something your not telling the viewers maybe!”

But viewer said: “That was excruciating.”

SEX BAN

It comes as Mr Hancock warned Brits they need to “be careful” before they think about having a fling outside of “established relationships” as Britain preapres to face a second wave of covid-19.

Mr Hancock told anyone looking for a steamy affair in the winter months to think twice.

It just means that people need to be careful, they need to be sensible.

He said: “In these rules that we have to bring in, there have to be boundaries, to coin a phrase.

"If you're saying that two households shouldn't mix, which we are in some parts of the country - in the North East, the North West, in Scotland, in parts of Wales - then you have to then define what is the boundary of that."

He added: "I think we should stick to the letter of it, which is it is okay in an established relationship.

"It just means that people need to be careful, they need to be sensible.

"If you're in a relationship that is well established... what it means is people realising that coming into close contact with people from other households, then that is how the virus spreads."

Mr Hancock joked that "I know I am in an established relationship" with his wife.
