Arsenal bounced back from their Liverpool nightmare to move up to fifth in the Premier League with a comfortable win over Newcastle.
Despite that high position, Mikel Arteta will be keen to boost his squad in the January transfer window when it opens in just over a month’s time.
When he does, the Spaniard will be looking to recreate the success he enjoyed in the summer window, with all of his signings currently key members of his squad.
At the top of the agenda will be a new striker, with Alexandre Lacazette appearing increasingly likely to move on from the Emirates at the end of his contract.

Elneny exit talk rubbished
Earlier this month, it was reported that Arsenal were set to terminate the contract of Mohamed Elneny with the midfielder struggling for gametime.
The 29-year-old’s agent William D’avila had attempted to drum up interest in the Egyptian when that news broke, with the suggestion a January move could be in the pipeline.
But now Elneny’s father has moved to play down talk of an exit for his son, insisting his recent inclusion in the team that lost to Liverpool shows that he remains in Mikel Arteta’s plans.
“Mohamed’s contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season,” Milli Gazete report Elneny senior saying to Al Hayat TV.
“The club does not intend to terminate his contract. His playing in the Liverpool match proves his coach’s belief in him and his abilities.
“It is difficult for him to return to Egypt during this period. The reports that El Ahly made a deal with him are completely false.”

Juventus midfielder Dejan Kulusevski looks set to be one of the main targets for Arsenal in the winter window.
The 21-year-old has found minutes hard to come by under returning manager Max Allegri, making just two starts in all competitions this term.
According to Calciomercato, that lack of game time has left the Sweden international ‘unhappy’ with life in Turin.
It appears Juve are just as unhappy with his situation, with the Serie A giants putting Kulusevski on their transfer list with Allegri unable to find ‘space’ in his plans for the midfielder.
Juve are looking to sign Dusan Vlahovic but will need to raise funds to do so, with Kulusevski available for around £30million.
It is reported that Arsenal have met Juve sporting director Federico Cherubini, with the potential transfer of Kulusevski on the agenda.
Lacazette hints at move
Alexandre Lacazette has claimed that he will wait until January before he makes a decision on his future.
The striker is out of contract at the end of the season and looks likely to depart having struggled to find a place in Arteta’s plans.
He came off the bench to play 14 minutes in the win over Newcastle and has insisted his focus will remain on the Gunners before the winter window opens.
“Of course, my agents are starting to look to the right and to the left. But not until January, I really want to focus myself on something,” Lacazette told French channel Telefoot.
“And then we will see what is on offer, if the challenges are interesting, if there are beautiful projects, how they are counting on me.
“So there are still many questions, I prefer to wait until January to position myself.”
