Non-essential stores have reopened across Wales for the first time this year after months of only being able to operate for click and collect.

Hundreds have been queuing for shops such as Primark and Debenhams in Cardiff as they welcome back customers after closing their doors in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For those swerving the clothing stores and looking to spruce up and restock their homes, Argos, Dunelm and TK Maxx have also shared updates.

The retailers have explained everything from opening hours to safety measures and return policies.

Argos

Argos has now reopened

From Monday, April 12, Argos stores and Argos stores within a Sainsbury's supermarket, will reopen.

Argos is limiting the number of customers in branches and has warned shoppers they may need to queue before entering. For those hoping to avoid the rush, Argos has said it's busiest between 3-5pm but less so at the start and end of the day.

In Wales, stores will operate in the following way:

All stores open.

Pre-paid online orders can be collected from any store.

You can purchase item(s) in-store.

Returns can be taken to any store in-line with the returns policy.

Collection points within Sainsbury's supermarkets (usually located near customer services) can only accept orders collected from a Sainsbury's collection point.

Home delivery, installation and recycling services are still available.

It's no surprise many shoppers have took to the high street first thing this morning, but here are the store savings you don't want to miss.

Dunelm- the homeware favourite has an online clearance of up to 50% off

Argos has also shared an update on its return policy for customers, a statement on its website reads: "To avoid any non-essential journeys, we've extended our returns policy – any store-collected purchases made from 18 October 2020 can be returned up to 30 days from the re-opening of non-essential retail in your area, in-line with our returns guarantee."

Dunelm

Dunelm has reopened in Wales

A statement on the store's website reads: "Our stores in Wales have now reopened with full safety measures in place.

"You can pop in to any of our stores to browse, or we still have contact-free Click & Collect and Home Delivery available if you don't feel comfortable coming into store.

"For the safety of you and our colleagues, we ask that you please wear a face mask or a visor when picking up your Click & Collect order from your local store.

"We will hold your orders for seven days, which we hope will help you manage your trips better, and make it possible to incorporate your collection into an essential journey."

TK Maxx and Homesense

TK Maxx has reopened its doors

Some stores have now reopened in Wales with extended reopening hours. TK Maxx has said it is updating trading times throughout the day.

TK Maxx's Click and Collect is temporarily unavailable in all stores but Standard Delivery and Next Day Delivery remain available.

The returns period has been extended for 30 days from the date stores re-opened for customers who needed to return items while stores were closed.
