Police are appealing to the public after an attempted robbery and assault in Birkenhead that happened this month.

A man riding a 21-plate grey Titan Lexmoto scooter on Tollemache Road was approached by two other men riding a red scooter on July, 9 at 6.10pm.

The passenger of the red scooter is reporterd to have punched the victim.

The 21-year-old victim managed to ride away, however another black and green scooter is reported to have come from Buckingham Avenue and collided with the victim.

The riders on the red scooter then approached the man again where they threatened him at knife point.

A black scooter then approached the group and rammed into the victim causing damage to the exhaust.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: “Thankfully, the victim managed to get away unscathed but was obviously shaken by the incident and has suffered financially due to his scooter being damaged.

“Now officers are appealing to anyone that might have been in the area at the time and saw people they think could have been involved.
