Angela Cullen points out Lewis Hamilton habit F1 fans should keep an eye out for

Angela Cullen pointed out the one thing that Formula 1 fans should watch out for when her old client Lewis Hamilton is preparing for racing action.

Cullen was Hamilton's physiotherapist at Mercedes for seven years and was regularly seen by his side in the paddock. More than that, though, she was a trusted ally and confidant who was always there to lend her support whenever needed.

She still performs that role, only from afar these days. Last month, Hamilton announced that he and Cullen were no longer working together and hailed the impact that her work and presence had had on his life.

Ahead of qualifying for this weekend's Australian Grand Prix, Cullen took to social media to express her excitement over what was about to happen. And, in doing so, she shed some light on what too look out for when assessing whether Hamilton is feeling good ahead of a session.

She wrote: "It's [qualifying], my favourite time of an entire race weekend looking for that perfect single lap. Car set-up meets precision driving. The perfect quali is where you build each lap, learn from the previous, implement and profit in the following. Just love the focus and attention.

"Watch for Lewis' hands when he is sitting in the car in the garage, if they are dancing you know he is in the zone. Let's go, you can have a perfect quali as a driver regardless of end position, that is the goal."

Clearly Hamilton was feeling good as he produced a strong performance to qualify third on the grid for Sunday's race. To make matter even better for Mercedes, his team-mate George Russell went second quickest, with the two Brits beaten only by pole-sitter Max Verstappen.

Over the moon with the result, Hamilton said after the session: "George did a fantastic job there today and for us to be up there on the two front rows is honestly a dream for us. We're all working as hard as we can to get right back up the front so to be this close to the Red Bull is honestly incredible.

"We hope tomorrow we can give them a bit of a run for their money, and hope the weather is good. The second lap wasn't as good as the first one. I did get a little bit further ahead in the last sector but ultimately I lost out a little bit in the beginning. But I'm not disappointed – I'm super grateful for this position and I'm going to work as hard as I can to move forward tomorrow."
