A "major incident" has taken place at Flamingo Land with reports it involved a ride.

An air ambulance can be seen landing at the theme park near Malton in North Yorkshire.

Footage shot close to park showed a helicopter landing nearby as other emergency services vehicles arrived.

Images from the scene were taken at about 4.30pm today.

Tourists queuing for the Kumasi ride said they had seen an air ambulance flying overhead before it landed.

Staff have since closed off an area inside the park.

Flamingo Land is a theme park, zoo, and resort located in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire.

On its website, the resort describes itself as: "Yorkshire's ultimate Theme Park attraction & an award winning Zoo, plus a luxury Resort Village, for fantastic family days out, holidays & short breaks."
