An air ambulance has landed on the outskirts of Burton this afternoon after reports of a man unconscious in the street.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of a person who was unconscious in Hawfield Lane, Winshill, this afternoon, Tuesday, July 27, and sent emergency vehicles to the scene of the incident.

They received the call at 3.05pm today and there is currently one ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance that is based in Tatenhill at the scene.

They are currently treating the man at the scene, a spokesman for the ambulance service has said.

Those living in Winshill reported seeing the air ambulance flying over their homes in the last hour, with some saying that it had landed in the Melbourne Avenue area, near to Winshill Medical Centre.
