So 'just' the 39 goals in the eight Premier League matches played so far this weekend.

Should we expect even more from tonight's two remaining fixtures?

We round up our betting analysis of the weekend's matches with the Monday night games at Villa Park and Molineux.

Aston Villa vs Sheff Utd - 6pm Sky Sports PL & Main Event

Something will have to give at Villa Park.

Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last 13 home league meetings with Sheffield United (W7 D6), including all four games against them at Villa Park in the Premier League (W3 D1).
But The Blades are unbeaten in each of their last four league games against Aston Villa (W2 D2).

So a draw then? ( 9/4 with thepools.com )

While Villa were warming up for the PL season with a Carabao Cup defeat of Burton, Sheffield United were losing at home to Wolves.

So folding in last season's finish Villa are now unbeaten in five, with three goals conceded; Sheffield United are winless in five, with nine goals conceded.

Which makes Villa the value at 8/5 .

Eight of Villa's nine Premier League wins last season were under 3.5 goals, and only once did they score more than twice, the two sides shared a forgettable 0-0n draw in June and no top-half top flight team scored fewer than Sheffield United's 39 goals last term.

So Villa to win to nil at 14/5 is a huge price and our recommended call.

Wolves vs Man City - 8.15pm Sky Sports PL & Main Event

A pre-season survey by the Manchester Evening News revealed that 59% of Man City supporters still cite centre-back as a major area of concern for their side this season.

Nathan Ake will get the chance to prove that those fears are groundless at Molineux tonight, with Aymeric Laporte missing - but the bookies still make Over 2.5 goals an odds on 7/10 call while Both Teams To Score is also less than even money at 5/6 .

All four meetings between Wolves and Manchester City under Pep Guardiola and Nuno Espirito Santo have produced at least two goals with Over 2.5 paying out in half of those fixtures and Both Teams To Score following the same trend.

Both teams have scored in both matches at Molineux since Wolves returned to the Premier League and another trend worth noting is that four of Wolves' six meetings with top-six finishers last season broke the Over 2.5 Goals barrier, with the same figure securing BTTS profit.

City only fired four blanks in the whole of last season so BTTS looks a shoo in.

But can lightning strike THREE times?

Since the hosts' promotion to the top-flight, Nuno Espirito Santo's side have avoided defeat in three of their four Premier League showdowns against the Citizens (W2-D1-L1), including doing the double over City last season.

They are a very big 11/2 to make it three in a row while City are a prohibitive 1/2 with thepools.com .

Man City were last season's leading Premier League corner winners with a whopping 298 over the PL season. Wolves managed five in last week's win at Shfeeield United and Man City to win, Over 1.5 goals and nine or more corners is a Pools special at 17/10 .

Recommended bets
