Wilsons Hampshire Ltd is inviting the public to attend an exhibition detailing the plans for land south-east of Ailsa Hospital, Glenparks in Ayr. The plans are set to bring forward approximately £37.5 million new capital investment to deliver a residential led Masterplan and that will also include a 65 bed  care home and local community/retail facilities.

Community consultation is vitally important to Wilsons Hampshire Ltd, so they are keen for feedback on the plans.

Following the public consultation a planning application will be made, there’ll also be a live question and answer session over on www.glenparksconsultation.co.uk on 30 September between 3pm and 7.30pm where you can put any queries you may have to the panel.

Once the community has made the thoughts on the plans, a planning application will be made to South Ayrshire Council so now is the time to have a look at what’s in store for Glenparks.

The applicant considers that the proposal will bring much needed quality homes to Ayr and represent significant inward investment. The development is set to bring £37.5 million of new capital investment, create in the region of 100 new jobs. The new housing is expected to generate an additional £770,000 per annum in new Council Tax receipts.

Green space is also a key element of the site layout, and there’ll be a large area of public open space in the centre of the development.

Extensive tree planting will also be carried out around the perimeter of the site, adding to the existing trees and landscape.

There’ll also be a care home facility to the east of the site entrance, as well as a grouping of key facilities including a small foodstore, office and café type uses which will serve the needs of the local area and also provide business and job opportunities.

And for those who love the outdoors, there’ll also be a network of footpaths and cycle ways across the development and beyond to other phases, and into Ayr town centre itself.
