Pro-democracy activist Nathan Law says he is in London after fleeing Hong Kong amid a crackdown by the Chinese government.
Earlier this month, Mr Law, a leading member of the opposition movement, wrote on Facebook that he had left Hong Kong for an undisclosed location out of concern for his personal safety and that of others.
He announced on Monday that he had travelled to London with only a backpack and "small luggage in hand".
In a series of tweets, he wrote: "With my backpack and small luggage in hand, I boarded my night flight. I had no idea what future awaited me. Only one thing seemed certain. My destination: London."
