Emergency services have shut a major route out of Hull after a crash on the A63.
Humberside Police rushed to the scene of the incident, which occurred at shortly before 3pm this afternoon, near the junction to South Cave.
Officers have completely closed the westbound carriageway to vehicles.
In a tweet Humberside Police advised drivers to avoid the area where possible.
It said: “A63 Westbound near the junction of South Cave is closed to allow emergency services to respond to a road traffic collision.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.”

"Traffic due to overturned van"
Travel centre, InRix, said the closure has been caused by an overturned van.
“A63 Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to overturned van at A1034. Congestion to Welton.
"Vehicles being brought off at South Cave exit"
One driver at the scene said:
“Accident A63 westbound - closed from South Cave. All vehicles being brought off at South Cave exit.”
