A lane on a major road out of Hull was closed by police on Wednesday evening.
It was closed on the A63 westbound between the Humber bridge and Hallmark hotel.
A witness said police were at the scene on the road.
They said: “Lane two closed westbound under Humber Bridge to Hallmark hotel junction. Not sure why just police parked up."
Traffic management system INRIX said workers were in the road attempting to repair a "damaged carriageway" at around 12.50pm.
One lane was shut at around 1pm, however this was cleared at around eight minutes later, according to highways England. One lane was shut, but this was quickly reopened while the carriageway was repaired.
