A huge new sports bar is opening in Manchester city centre next month, with more than 20 screens, an outdoor terrace and live bands throughout the weekends.

Box - already an established name in Leeds city centre - will take over two floors of a site on Deansgate, opposite Spinningfields.

Although a haven for sports fans, it will also offer live entertainment including 'bandeoke', where punters can take over the mic and join a live band on stage to belt out the hits.

The bar comes from Arc Inspirations, the company behind Banyan and Manahatta, who say Box will be a spot to 'eat, drink, watch live sport, play and party all under one roof'.

20 top-of-the-range TV screens will surround a huge bar on the ground floor, with every seat in the venue given a view of the live sports that will be shown.

There'll also be two 21-foot European Shuffleboard tables, and a busy events programme of live apres-ski style bands and DJs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

How the Manchester Box bar will look

The massive 8000 sq ft site will have beer tanks filled with fresh Budvar, delivered weekly from the Czech Republic.

Pornstar martinis and espresso martinis will be available on tap, made to a secret recipe, served alongside cocktail steins and four-litre beer towers.

Food will include hand-crafted burgers

For food, it's pizzas made with double-fermented dough, hand-formed burgers, marinated kebabs and Box platters with mini burgers, mozzarella fries, crispy popcorn chicken and succulent BBQ ribs.

This will be Arc Inspiration's fourth opening in Manchester, joining Banyan bars in the Corn Exchange and Spinningfields, and Manahatta just down the road on Deansgate.

There's live music as well as live sports screenings

Arc Inspirations CEO Martin Wolstencroft said: "We’re delighted to finally be introducing our BOX brand to Manchester for its much-anticipated launch.

"It’s exciting to be opening the doors next month to guests, especially after what’s been a challenging time for everyone.

"We’re confident the good folk of Manchester will enjoy BOX’s high-energy experience and overall, come to us for some great fun.

"The bar will also create 70 new local jobs for the local community, and we’re keen to hear from people interested in working in a fast-growing, dynamic company."
