    FANCY A BRU

Luke Shaw believes Manchester United have bought a diamond in Bruno Fernandes.

The £55million buy from Sporting Lisbon was involved in all three goals in Sunday’s win against Watford, including scoring the opening penalty.

Portuguese ace Fernandes, 25, has earned rave reviews in four appearances.

And left-back Shaw said: “It sort of shows someone’s quality when they come in and find it so easy to adapt straightaway.

“Credit to him, he’s been brilliant so far. Even more so, he’s a really nice guy and that helps a lot.

“He fits in well and hopefully can continue pushing us forward.”

    POLE POSITION

Manchester United are taking two 16-year-old Polish defenders on a week's trial next month.

Former Arsenal and Sampdoria triallist Mateuz Lipp from Akademia Chorzów and Korona Kielce's Radoslaw Sewerys both signed professional deals with their top-flight home country clubs last year.

They are expected to be in the stands when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men host Club Brugge in the Europa League return leg on Thursday, level at 1-1.

Chorzów proudly posted the news of Lipp's trial on their website, while Sewerys has already progressed to Kielce's matchday squad.

He has yet to come on for the first team but played 44 minutes in the Uefa Youth League and has five U-16 caps.

Both are due to culminate their United trial with a friendly against Cheltenham U-16s.

And it has also been suggested they will watch the United kids in action against 1860 Munich Under-15s and Club Brugge U-17s.

The duo will be buoyed by Solskjaer’s keenness to bring younger players through.

    MORNING REDS FANS

Man Utd are still basking in Sunday’s 3-0 drubbing of Watford.

But all eyes are now firmly fixed on Thursday’s Europa League clash against Club Brugge at Old Trafford.

United drew 1-1 in the first leg of the last 32 tie nearly a week ago.

But with Bruno Fernandes firing on all cylinders, you wouldn’t bet against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men.

Fernandes bagged a goal and assist against Watford at the weekend.

And teammate Luke Shaw has hailed the Portuguese playmaker for reinvigorating United’s stale season.

He said: “It sort of shows someone’s quality when they come in and find it so easy to adapt straightaway.

“Credit to him, he’s been brilliant so far. Even more so, he’s a really nice guy and that helps a lot.

“He fits in well and hopefully can continue pushing us forward.”

Shaw has also been talking up his own credentials for an England spot after rediscovering his club form.

Reflecting on Euro 2020, he added: “I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it, but, you know, I've got to keep working hard, keep my head down and whatever happens happens.

“But, of course, it's everyone's dream to be involved in the Euros.

“I'm just going to keep my head down, keep working. At the end the day it's not down to me, it's of course down to Gareth and I'll respect whatever he decides.”
