Another 461 people have contracted coronavirus in Lancashire in the last 24 hours.

New Public Health England figures published this afternoon (December 1) show Blackburn with Darwen and Preston both recorded the biggest increases, with 72 and 50 cases respectfully.

Only Lancaster posted a single figure rise compared to the three areas yesterday.

It brings the total number of confirm infections across all 14 boroughs to 62,664 since the start of the pandemic in March.

The data also shows that 18,635 people have tested positive for the virus throughout November - and 15,144 from November 5 when a second national lockdown was introduced.

This compares with a rise of more than 25,000 cases in October and 16,775 in September.

The new case data includes people being tested both through 'Pillar 1' - which is in hospitals - and Pillar 2 - which is drive-through test centres and swabs sent by post.

The data below includes the total number of cases and overall infection rate for each area since the pandemic began. Many of these cases will no longer be active.
