2020 election polls - live: Obama says voters must ‘turn out like never before’ as Biden and Trump tied in Texas

Former US president Barack Obama on Wednesday

“I don’t care about the polls,” said Barack Obama on Wednesday, as he campaigned for Joe Biden  in Pennsylvania, a battleground state where the Democratic nominee holds a slim lead over Donald Trump, his Republican opponent.

As he delivered an attack on Mr Trump, the former US president urged voters to “turn out like never before” in the state, which the latest Quinnipiac University survey found Mr Biden leading by 8 percentage points.

Meanwhile in Texas, a Republican stronghold, the Democratic nominee was found to have closed the gap with Mr Trump, as both candidates poled at 47 per cent of the vote, according to Quinnipiac.
