BLUES VS REDS
Chelsea's hopes of getting an easier tie in the FA Cup fifth round were dashed last night, after Liverpool scraped past Shrewsbury Town.
The Reds had fielded their under-23s side, with Jurgen Klopp not even attending after complaining about the scheduling of the fourth round replay.
Yet, after getting some luck with VAR – which ruled out a goal for the Shrews – Liverpool got some luck at the other end after Ro-Shaun Williams put into his own net to send the Reds through.
They will clash at Stamford Bridge the week of March 2.
TOMORI'S ANOTHER DAY
Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham are currently soaking up the sun in Dubai.
They are among the Chelsea stars enjoying their time off with Frank Lampard wanting his players back at Cobham early next week.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is also out in the UAE, with Jorginho back in the country of his birth, Brazil.
While Chelsea's stars enjoy their winter break, Ruben Loftus-Cheek enjoys no such benefits.
After playing 60 minutes in a reserve friendly today, the midfielder posted to Twitter to celebrate another step in his injury comeback.
He wrote: ” Back running with the ball at my feet.”
Stars of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all trained at the same sprawling Dubai sports complex during the Premier League winter break.
Players such as Callum Hudson-Odoi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, David Luiz, Jesse Lingard, Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot were all seen enjoying the sun in the Middle East.
But it was soon time to get to work as United, Chelsea and Arsenal all trained at the The Nad Al Sheba sports complex in Dubia.
The Complex has become the go-to venue for clubs and athletes looking for some winter sun.
Cristiano Ronaldo was a visitor in the past, Patrice Evra is a regular and Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain, Virgil van Dijk, Novak Djokovic and Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford have all used the facility for injury recovery.
FAUST AND FURIOUS
Good news from the Chelsea academy – more good news, in fact!
Under-23 midfielder Faustino Anjorin has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.
Among the nominees are Admiral Muskwe of Leicester and Manchester City's Ben Knight.
The winner will be announced next week.
