    TA TA BINKS

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has swooped on former rivals Tottenham to snap-up England youth starlet Luis Binks.

The 42-year-old Frenchman took charge of MLS side Montreal Impact in November and is gearing up for his season in North America.

Now he has bolstered his outfit by returning to North London to bring in the 18-year-old defender, as reported on SunSport last week.

Impact sporting director Olivier Renard said: “We are very happy to acquire this young player with a very high ceiling.

“Luis has chosen this club and Montreal to continue his career.

“He is a defender with high passing quality, who has shown great maturity on the field since the start of camp in St. Petersburg.

“We hope he’ll integrate well into the group and acclimate quickly to MLS.”

Binks is predominantly a centre-half, although he can fill in at full-back, and looks set to partner fellow new defender Joel Waterman at the back for Henry.

Details of the teenager’s contract have yet to be confirmed.

    PERKY PEPE, GUEN DOZY

Nicolas Pepe's emergence for Arsenal contrasts with Matteo Guendouzi's downfall.

While £72million Ivory Coast winger Pepe bagged a goal and two assists in the 4-0 rout of Newcastle, midfielder Guendouzi was omitted after reportedly clashing with boss Mikel Arteta.

And Arteta said of his team selection: “The reason is that players who, in my opinion, are training better, behaving better and are more applied to deliver on the pitch what we want, are the players that are selected.”
