Remains of 30-year-old man missing for five years found buried in Richmond Hill yard

The cause of death is not being released at this time and police are appealing to the public for more information

The remains of a man last seen in 2018 have been discovered buried in the yard of his Richmond Hill home.

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Bureau made the announcement this week. They have identified the remains as belonging to Kevin Rosas, 30, who was reported missing by family on June 26, 2018.

The death is being classified as a homicide and police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation.

The cause of death is not being released at this time.

Rosas was last seen at his residence on Elmwood Avenue on June 21, 2018. The Homicide Unit assumed control of the investigation in April 2021 after earlier efforts to find him were unsuccessful.

On June 5, 2023, human remains were found in a residential yard on Elmwood Ave. in Richmond Hill. They have been confirmed as the remains of Kevin BONADA ROSAS, reported missing in June 2018. The death is being classified as a homicide.

This past June, human remains were found buried in the yard of the residence. Forensic examination later confirmed them to be the remains of Rosas.
