A 72-year-old woman was in critical condition Wednesday morning after she was struck by a car at an intersection in the city of Pointe Claire.

Montreal police said the incident occurred at 9:45 a.m. at the corner of St-Jean Blvd. and Labrosse Ave. The impact occurred as the car, headed west on Labrosse Ave., turned to head south on St. Jean Blvd.

The driver of the car, a 78-year-old man, remained at the scene.

A police perimeter has been set up at the site and traffic is barred from St-Jean Blvd. between Brunswick and Salaberry Blvds. and on Labrosse Ave. between Auto Plaza Ave. and Revco Ave.
