9 ‘BNP-Jamaat activists’ arrested in sabotage case in Jashore

Jashore police have arrested nine alleged BNP and Jamaat activists in a sabotage case filed against 39 people with Kotwali Police Station.

The case was filed by SI Saidur Rahman of Chanchra Police Outpost, reports our beanpole correspondent.

Police already arrested nine persons in the case including the secretary of the district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, said the SI.

Relatives of one of the arrestees-- Abu Zafar Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman, claimed that he is innocent and police arrested him wrongfully.

SI Saidur Rahman in the case statement claimed that some BNP-Jamaat activists gathered at Mandalgati Madrasa Road Junction of Sadar Upazila last night in order to carry out sabotage activities.

On receiving this information, police went there and arrested nine people. Others managed to run away.

Police also recovered four cocktails from the place, the SI claimed.
